OUR WORLD

The next-generation town planners, helping build better places through outcome orientated approaches, people-first thinking and technical precision.

At in urbe, we’re proud to be part of the next generation of town planners in Victoria, curious, collaborative, and deeply committed to a practical, contemporary approach. We’re people people. Whether working with clients, colleagues, contractors, or new friends, we believe that planning is built on trust, respect, and real human connection.

Beyond the layers of legislation, policy and planning schemes, we see a practice that’s ultimately about improving the places we live, work and play in. Planning, at its best, should be grounded in enjoyment, fairness, and sustainability. We bring this belief into everything we do, navigating complex statutory systems with technical confidence, while never losing sight of the bigger picture: creating better, more liveable places for everyone.

OUR WORK

At our core, we believe that true success is measured by outcomes. Delivering quality results is not just a product of our deep technical expertise and years of hands-on experience, but equally of our practical, common-sense approach and a strong commitment to collaboration. We are proud to have worked across a diverse range of project types and scales throughout Victoria, from small infill developments to large-scale precinct plans.

Our team has been fortunate to cut our teeth alongside some of Victoria’s most accomplished and respected Town Planners, gaining invaluable insights and honing our craft along the way. Every project, every challenge, has helped shape who we are today.

We continue to apply and build on these learnings with each new opportunity, ensuring that our work remains not only efficient and accurate, but consistently thoughtful, forward-looking, and tailored to the unique needs of each client and community.

  • Bachelor of Environments majoring in Urban Design and Planning - University of Melbourne

Master of Disaster, Design and Development with Distinction – Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology

    Overview

Aiden is an accomplished Town Planner with a depth of experience in the private town planning sector. Consolidating his background in planning, design and disaster management, Aiden has been able to foster an outcome and people driven approach to urban planning and the built environment. Working alongside some of the industry's most respected practitioners, Aiden has had the opportunity to work on a number of significant, complex and atypical projects across Victoria and Queensland.

Aiden brings extensive experience in managing applications across a broad spectrum of residential, commercial, industrial, community, land use and rural land management projects and is proficient in interpreting and navigating Melbourne’s complex and evolving planning system.

Aiden fundamentally believes that planning is personal, recognising our role in shaping how people live, work, and connect with their environment.

    Favourite World City

Looking purely through the lens of a city to live in, Aiden can’t go past Lisbon. The city strikes a rare balance between heritage and modern functionality, it’s layered in its urban fabric, organic in its growth, harmoniously takes benefit from its landscape and natural environs, and puts an emphasis on public open space and public life which creates an urban “vibe” that is yet to be matched.

    Favourite Melbourne urban locale

Thornbury Picture House has earned its reputation as an anchor of the identity of Thornbury and a community touchstone, and is Aiden’s favourite haunt. Previously a 1920’s garage, it is a great example of how historical form can be reutilised and repurposed to preserve the unique character of Melbourne’s past, whilst creating a community hub for locals to enjoy some new and old cinema, and a couple of quality wines.

Niamh has over five years of Planning experience in the private sector, having worked across a wide mix of projects—from residential and mixed-use developments to industrial, commercial, heritage and community-focused projects. Her strength lies in blending good design thinking with a practical understanding of planning processes, policy and legislation.

Niamh brings a fresh, forward-thinking approach to town planning in Victoria. She’s all about building genuine relationships, cutting through complexity, and staying focused on outcomes that work for both people, place and the environment.

Niamh is passionate about promoting well-designed, sustainable and appropriately scaled density that fosters community connection.

    Favourite World City

Niamh absolutely adores the city of Zwolle in the Netherlands. Like most cities within the Netherlands, Zwolle is renowned for its thoughtful urban planning with a clear focus on providing public open spaces, green spaces and providing infrastructure for sustainable modes of transport. The city is notably pedestrian-friendly, with walkable streets and car-free zones that encourage a slower, more community-oriented pace of life. Zwolle also does a wonderful job of carefully preserving its rich architectural history whilst embracing new and modern development in a way that enhances, rather than detracts from its historic charm.

    Favourite Melbourne urban locale

The Great Northern on Rathdowne Street in Carlton North. Aside from enjoying a pint at a beautifully preserved historic Melbourne venue and dog friendly pub, Rathdowne Street has plenty to offer. Rathdowne Street exemplifies thoughtful Urban Design and Planning through investment into public space and sustainable transport infrastructure, coupled with a mix of housing typologies and land uses. Rathdowne Street showcases how deliberate planning and community-focused initiatives can create urban areas into vibrant, livable spaces that celebrate both heritage and community interaction.

    Favourite Melbourne urban locale

Among Manasi’s favourite urban locales in Melbourne are the CBD’s iconic laneways, especially those animated by the city’s vibrant coffee culture. She appreciates these spaces for their unique ability to foster open, social, and cheerful public interactions. In contrast to the fast-paced rhythm of the surrounding city, these laneways offer a moment of pause—serving as informal gathering spaces that reflect the human scale and spontaneity of urban life. This interest informs her broader appreciation for public spaces that support social connection and urban well-being.
