PAKINGTON STREET, KEW

In collaboration with Architecton and Bryce Raworth Heritage Conservation.

A thoughtful blend of heritage charm and contemporary sophistication, this project exemplifies sensitive design in one of Melbourne's most character-rich suburbs. We worked closely with Architecton and Bryce Raworth Heritage Conservation to secure a planning approval that respects the existing streetscape whilst enabling modern family living.

The original red-brick bungalow has been carefully preserved and celebrated, with a striking, minimalist addition tucked respectfully behind the existing dwelling. The contemporary rear extension introduces clean lines, expansive glazing, and a strong connection to the landscaped gardens, offering a modern lifestyle without compromising the home's heritage significance.

In Urbe provided comprehensive town planning services, navigating heritage and community expectations. We facilitated a collaborative design review process with council planners to ensure compliance and contextual sensitivity, achieving an uncompromised design outcome.

The result is a timeless residence that meets modern family needs while enhancing the character and legacy of Kew’s built environment.
