MELBOURNE GRAND MOSQUE
In collaboration with Rise Architecture and Melbourne Grand Mosque.
Community building has and continues to be the at the heart of this project.
We have worked closely with the Melbourne Grand Mosque and Rise Architecture to facilitate amendments and the completion of the Melbourne Grand Mosque ensuring that the final outcome for this centre, containing a place of worship, function centre, sports centre and childcare centre, is physically and operationally functional to service the needs of the Centre’s growing community.
This extension of the Melbourne Grand Mosque weaves tradition with contemporary civic ambition. At the heart of the proposal lies an architecture of gathering, generous arcaded walkways invite movement, interaction, and reflection. Landscaped terraces and shaded courtyards encourage community interaction, while the robust façade language evokes both permanence and peace.
The design refines the existing structure with an architectural vocabulary that is cohesive yet quietly expressive, elevating the mosque not only as a place of worship, but as a daily cultural and social hub. Integrated spaces for learning, celebration, and support affirm the mosque's evolving role as a centre for connection, compassion, and shared belonging.
