MAPT TEST GARDEN

In collaboration with
Melbourne Arts Precinct Corporation

The Laak Boorndap Test Garden is an initiative and intervention by the Melbourne Arts Precinct Corporation showcased within Federation Square that is designed as a place for people and performance, and as an example and taste of the landscape design to be delivered as part of the 18,000 square metre Laak Boorndap urban garden that will be at the heart of the new Melbourne Arts Precinct.

An interim Test Garden has been delivered to pilot planting techniques, inform programming opportunities, and explore community engagement around climate and ecological resilience. This space functions as both a living prototype and an active public asset, contributing valuable insight to the broader design and planning process.

in urbe worked closely with the Melbourne Art’s Precinct Corporation to forensically navigate planning policy and legislation to facilitate and obtain the necessary approvals and consents from local authorities to help bring this initiate to life.
